With its industrial design of wood, glass and steel, Alt Shift represents the culinary extension of Control Club, a landmark in Bucharest’s indie party scene. The menu is a mix of casual all-time favorites, ranging from cold cuts and salads to homemade pasta, sea food, burgers and steaks. The chicken liver pâté is light and has a subtle cognac aftertaste, balanced by the smoky roasted peppers. The Tarragona beef tenderloin is cooked to order, served with a tangy cognac sauce, green homemade tagliatelle and fresh, seasonal vegetables. As expected, the drinks list is more than satisfying. Also, after midnight they offer a “nightshift” pizza menu, makes perfect sense since there’s always a party downstairs.
