L'avis de Gault&Millau

Chef: Valentin VÎLCESCU Athanasios is a small Greek island hidden right in the center of Brașov – a modern one, considering the design, as well as the menu. The sautéed olives with spring onions and pepper, with a mustard, garlic, and white wine sauce, represent such a contemporary approach to a Greek classic. Likewise, the octopus 1in wine sauce, associated with asparagus. Galaktoboureko is a purely traditional pie, with its semolina custard wrapped in phyllo sheets and soaked in syrup – the proof that some recipes need no interventions, as long as they’re well prepared, with quality ingredients. The drinks menu is quite short but authentic, with wines, beer, ouzo, and Greek brandies. Discover more about Athanasios on our new local gastronomy platform.
