Borgo Margherita is a charming neighborhood restaurant that takes pizza really seriously: Neapolitan crust, thin, soft and elastic, wood fired oven, and fresh, authentic ingredients. The reason it all works so well is Beniamino Illiano (Benny), who transferred from Naples to Bucharest along with his years of experience in pizza making, built his own oven and respects all traditional principles. While you can choose other items – like the enjoyable pasta with zucchini and prawns –, most people around you will be having pizza and a cold beer. And so should you. Try a Margherita, or a deep-fried pizza with salami and pepper – this traditional working class street food is heavy and fatty, but also highly satisfying.
