L'avis de Gault&Millau
Chef: Margareta STAN
After the siege of Vienna, when the Ottomans were chased away from the gates of the city, the Austrians laid their hands, among other things, on the coffee they left behind. To make it accessible to the European taste, they sweetened it and added milk. No wonder that Mélanges abound in Viennese cafés, and Café Wien makes no exception. The Austrian identity is reflected in all respects, from the design to the menu. Schnitzels are well represented, as well as strudels and specialties such as the Frittatensuppe (soup with crȇpe strips). The wine list includes various regions of Romania, as well as Austrian labels. And the piano player rounds up the atmosphere.
