Conceived as an intricate embroidery, Caju is an easily accessible brasserie close to the Athenaeum, impressive due to the attention to detail and consistency. The décor manages to create a modern, subtly Oriental atmosphere. Joseph Hadad’s menu is the sum of his experience as a chef born in North Africa, who brought along spices and techniques, but also expanded the culinary proposition to the whole Mediterranean. The Moroccan bread, fire roasted eggplants with tahini sauce, or duck leg confit with polenta and caramelized onions are just a few examples of flawless execution, which will make you want to return. And you’re not the only one, so reservations are recommended.
