One of the most intimate restaurants in Sibiu – only five tables and the bar –, Capsicum gives the feeling of a place with a faithful clientele, which most likely comes back for the food, not just for the familiar atmosphere. Written on a worn blackboard, the menu changes daily and offers an appealing (and accessible) fusion, in a culinary adventure through Europe, the Middle East and all the way to India, China or Thailand. Ingredients are cleverly combined – the bean spread with red onions, lemon, and olive oil has a Turkish flair, the steamed eggplants are complimented by soy sauce, ginger, garlic, and chives and hint at Asia, while the cheesecake is perfectly executed.
