Opened in 2012, with a menu signed by Jakob Hausmann, Epoca was a pioneer in Craiova – and the fact that it’s still a top dining preference, now that more establishments followed its path, proves it was a good move for the city. The atmosphere is that of a classic, wood-paneled, chandeliered restaurant, well suited for special occasions. The menu focuses on steaks and wines. Tender cuts of American Black Angus and Argentinian beef benefit of different kinds of cooking techniques, including sizzled on hot stone. The generous selection of wines, albeit sold only by the bottle, will let you discover Oltenia and beyond. And if you want to finish your meal in flames, go for the Orange and Chocolate Parfait.
