Fish House

Gault&Millau's review

Chef: Zoran SAVIĆ With a modern design focused on comfort – plush armchairs, light wood, and discrete lighting –, friendly staff, and warm atmosphere, Fish House is a Mediterranean seafood restaurant where freshness is key. The recipes created by the Croatian Zoran Savić are always highlighted by surprising elements, such as the tuna tartare with ginger and lime, or the house smoked salmon, served with apples and horseradish. You will also find some dishes inspired by the Croatian cuisine, such as the “white” Buzara, where the original recipe (garlic, wine, parsley) is enhanced by the addition of sour cream, ginger and lemongrass. The wine menu is dominated by white and rosé labels, from Romania, Italy or France. Discover more about Fish House on our new local gastronomy platform. Veranda Casa Frumoasă

Strada Clopotarii Vechi, nr. 5, Bucharest

Francuska Śródziemnomorska

Chef: Avi STEINITZ Veranda Casa Frumoasă is located, as the name suggests, in the bright veranda of a beautiful interwar house in the central area of the city. Elegant and sophisticated, the restaurant proposes a rather concise, contemporary international menu. You may start with a marinated seabass, garnished with a pumpkin seed pesto and Manchuria fish roe. For the main dish you can try the beef medallion with porcini mushrooms and sour cream sauce. The dessert is creative and satisfying – a Crème Brûlée Semifreddo with raspberries, goji flakes, and caramel shards. The service is attentive and professional, and the drinks menu includes a section with prestigious wines from France and Italy.

Raionul de Pește

Owoce morza

May 2019: Raionul de Pește is temporarily closed for renovation work The Gault&Millau 2018 Award | POP Trophies was won by Raionul de Pește The beehive noise inside the Dorobanți market creates a surprisingly pleasant atmosphere for Raionul de Pește, just as in a proper fish market. The place is busy with people searching for fresh fish, either for take-away or to have it cooked there. Raw, marinated, smoked, fried or grilled a la plancha, the fish comes with nicely prepared sides like asparagus, risottos, and warm bread. The ceviche with salmon, calamari and octopus is a good appetizer, as well as the smoked gilt-head bream on a bed of chickpeas. As for mains, go for the qulama, fish & chips, seabass fillet a la plancha, ask the staff for a recommendation or just pick whatever catches your eye from the vast display at the counter. Grill i grill Owoce morza

Chef: Cristian LAZĂR Part of the Radisson Blu Hotel, Prime Steaks & Seafood borrows its restrained elegance, which makes it the perfect restaurant for a business lunch or a romantic dinner. The Duo of Foie Gras is a refined starter, with the duck liver cooked two ways – grilled and as a paté –, and balanced by a chili jam. Steaks of beef from Argentina, Uruguay but also Romania are cooked to order and perfectly so, and enjoy the company of various homemade mustards and sauces. As for fish dishes, the Mediterranean Bream is a more than convincing option. The wine selection is broad – and presented on a tablet, with descriptions and pairing recommendations.
