There is a forgotten feel to Haveli, and the design may not be a strong point, but the attentive service and the delicious food make it a noteworthy destination for an Indian-Pakistani meal. The Peshawari naan is freshly baked, puffy and crispy, served with cheese, raisins, desiccated coconut, and luxurious ghee. Next follows a seemingly inexhaustible array of meat, seafood and vegetable dishes, in all variations of sauces. The tender lamb Biryani with light rice is a good choice for milder flavors. The Vindaloo prawn comes in a sea of creamy tomato-onion- mustard sauce, and the heat level is adaptable to taste. Don’t skip dessert – the Gulab Jamun is an electrifying treat that deserves a trip on its own.
