Hong Kong

L'avis de Gault&Millau

Set in a central yet a bit shady neighborhood, with a small weirdly shaped dining room, idyllic nature images on the walls, a Lazy Susan turntable, heavy chairs, red table cloths, a dragon – these are just a few details that make Hong Kong quite an authentic Chinese eatery. The menu features classics from different regions, slightly adapted to Western tastes. Dumplings, Kung Pao chicken, sweet and sour pork, eggplant with wood ear mushrooms, fried rice are just a few. All served fast and hot, and good to share, just as you’d have them in a little dining place on a back alley in Shanghai or Beijing. Jasmine tea, served in the typical big white pot, and 600 ml Qingdao beer will keep the food good company.
