Karishma

L'avis de Gault&Millau

One of the oldest Indian restaurants in town, Karishma is still thriving thanks to its famous Southeast Asian cuisine, which certainly deserves more credit and presence in Bucharest. If you’re new to Indian food, here is a good starting point to try its main flavors, without making waves around specific regional delicacies. The vegetarian Thali will give you the chance to taste some of the most popular veggie dishes – daal, aloo gobi and shahi paneer, served with the typical steamed rice and fresh naan bread –, while the Chicken Tikka Masala – chunks of roasted meat and veggies in a creamy, spicy gravy – makes a good introduction to Indian curries. Try the masala tea as well – you won’t regret it.
