Chef: Marin POPESCU If you had a friend who could cook – and his name were, say, Marin – this is what his restaurant might be like. Off the beaten track on the south side of the city, close to the bridge, Marin is one of Arad’s gems of hospitality. The design is simple and bright, the kitchen is open and the food is a mix and match of international dishes. The house special Saint Jacques scallops are served with crispy parsnip slices, baked root vegetables, vegetable puree with pomegranate. The Arrachera beef is tender, marinated in fragrant spices and comes with simply sliced fresh and juicy mango and pineapple, and the moelleux with ice cream and crunchy nougat discs it’s a dessert not to be missed.
