An acclaimed Italian restaurant in Sibiu, MAX’s first strong suit is the historic heritage of the building it occupies, emphasized by the bright, clean design. Bare brick walls in some rooms alternate with plain white in others, and the original wooden ceiling conveys elegance. Equally harmonious is the menu, which includes a variety of Italian classics: antipasti and some soups, pasta, pizza, fish and seafood, but also stone-cooked meat. Lasagna della Mamma Lucia is freshly made and pleasantly seasoned with a few drops of balsamic vinegar. The sea bream with broccoli and cauliflower comes with an intense truffle sauce. The tiramisu brings a small surprise, through the crunchy texture of the cocoa nibs.
