Old Lisbon is the only Portuguese restaurant in Sibiu and it dutifully fulfills its role. Equally favored by locals, expats and tourists, it’s a corner of the Mediterranean in a corner of Transylvania. Their philosophy becomes evident from the introductory part of the menu – consistency, no compromise. Thus, bacalhau, the salty and dried Portuguese cod, is present in many recipes – you should try the Bacalhau à Moda da Braga, with tomato sauce and boiled potatoes. The shrimps in garlic infused oil are another simple, coherent dish. The selection of Romanian and Portuguese wines, as well as the music successfully complement this authentic experience.
