People of different cultures have long agreed that bread and wine should go together, and Pâine și Vin is proof that the combination still works perfectly to this day. The design is a luminous play of natural textures that suggest the colors of bread, with details such as ceramic church bell chandeliers. The bread takes many shapes, from baguettes, toast or focaccias to pizza and pies, infused with Greek, Mexican, Indian or Caucasian flavors. The wine is exclusively Romanian, and the treats that accompany it – Mangalitsa pork jamon, Vodă’s Cheese – reveal a strong interest in locally sourced ingredients. Sweets are not to be neglected either, the panna cotta with cardamom and figs being a good example.
