L'avis de Gault&Millau
Built on a floating dock right on the Danube, and gently swinging when bigger boats pass by, Peskano offers a mix of local and Mediterranean inspired fish and seafood dishes. Pike roe, the “Danube caviar”, is usually turned into a salad, but here you can enjoy them as they are, on toast. For a traditional main, you can opt for a brine (saramură) or an oven-baked plachie, based on the catch of the day. Alternatively, the Peskano Plate features a mix of mussels, calamari and shrimps. And if you don’t want to go for the obvious, there are plenty of other meat dishes to choose from. The wine menu is also extensive, featuring over 12 Romanian wineries.
