L'avis de Gault&Millau

Named after a famous café in Budapest, this family restaurant welcomes you in a warm atmosphere, defined by wood, brick and soft velvet. The menu is all Hungarian and Transylvanian, organized in two symmetric halves: traditional and “redimensioned Hungarian kitchen”. The latter is represented by the duck breast (smoked in-house), served with cozonac sweet bread, and rhubarb jam. As for the chocolate Pilvax cake with vanilla ice cream, it certainly deserves its statute as a favourite. The wine selection is vast, with almost 100 labels from all across Hungary: Tokaji, Szekszárd and Eger, to Villány or Balatonlelle. Various spirits are also available, for an old-school touch.
