Don’t let the unlikely location – the ground floor of a Communist era apartment building – keep you from visiting Taj. Of the few Indian restaurants in town, this might be the “hottest”. Indian music and Bollywood posters aside, the menu is a comprehensive display of dishes from all parts of the country. The Subzy Wali Jhalfrezi is a good veggie red curry to get you started, while the Gosht Balti Biryani is a wonderful showcase of Oriental flavors. You can specify how spicy you want your dishes, but do expect at least a hint of heat. Have some naans and lassi alongside to cool and balance everything off. On Sundays, they have an All-you-can-eat Brunch from 12 to 5 pm.
