Right in the middle of the probably most famous Saxon village, in a converted barn full of restored farm tools and rustic art, one can experience the quintessential cuisine of the Transylvanian country side. The menu is small and seasonal, with a farm-to-table approach. Come with an appetite, for the meal might get rather heavy, and an open mind toward discovering old, sometimes unusual, recipes. The strong flavor and fatty texture of the Bazna pork sausage and of the sheep’s cheese are well balanced by a beet and horseradish relish. Try a main such as the pork roast in Harghita beer, and a homey dessert (meringue sponge with apricots), next to a glass of local wine, brandy or homemade soft drink.
